Westview Baptist Church in Sylacauga, Alabama - Join us on Sunday!

If you're looking for a comfortable, friendly place to worship, we invite you to visit and meet our church family!

Our normal Sunday services include Sunday School at 9:45am, Worship at 11:00am, Bible Study at 5:00pm, and Evening Worship at 6:00pm. The church phone number is 256-245-7433. You can locate us on a map here.

The Glory Road Quartet will be performing at Westview on Saturday, July 12th, at 6:30pm. This group is from Thomasville, Alabama, and has been singing together about five years, although its members have been singing for many years with legendary local groups. Their Facebook description is 'Sharing the love of Jesus through traditional "Good Old Southern Gospel" music.' Bring your friends and neighbors and join us for the evening -- everyone is welcome!

Our July Grief Support session will be July 21st, at 6:30pm. We meet in the Fellowship Hall (double doors at rear of church). All discussions are conducted by a licensed counselor in a casual group setting and discussions are considered confidential. The goal of these meetings is to help anyone who has lost a loved one, lost a job or experienced other types of loss to get through the healing process. We are seeing these sessions helping people through their difficult time. Come, everyone is welcome!

Vacation Bible School is over for this year! During this year's SonTreasure Island VBS, children  discovered the treasure of God's love, sang songs, did crafts, played games, ate island snacks -- a good time for all! Family night featured hot dogs, cake and water slides! More pictures posted here on Flickr.

Larry Holcomb was ordained as a minister earlier this year and in March become Westview's Associate Pastor of Outreach and Evangelism. Larry and his wife, Helen, have been active members for several years and look forward to serving the Lord in their new roles.

Mike Wilson was ordained as our newest deacon on March 22, 2014. Mike and his wife, Cindy, will be a great addition to our deacons and wives. See more pictures here.

Our Teen Lock-In for grades 6-12 on March 14th and 15th turned out to be as much fun for the adults as the youth! Games, a movie, stacks of pizza and snacks..a couple hours of sleep (they were still going strong at 4:00am!)..and a hearty breakfast before "unlocking." See all the pictures here.

The Women of Westview's annual Conference was February 22nd. Forty women enjoyed praise and worship, solos by two talented ladies, several speakers and a fabulous salad lunch buffet among beautiful and creative tablescapes. The theme was "Snowflakes and Me." Karen Trippe was the featured speaker. See more photos here!

Our Christmas Dinner and Party on December 22nd was great fellowship--a wonderful meal (with dinner music, no less!), followed by games and laughter...much laughter! It was the women against the men in a Christmas Trivia Quiz (the ladies won!), and then our traditional "Twelve Days of Christmas," performed this year with a slightly different twist. To view the entire "12 days", click here, sit back and enjoy the show!

The children and youth invited their families to a Christmas Celebration on December 14th. Carols and Christmas songs were sung, the Nativity story read, and everyone enjoyed the fellowship and refreshments. Some of the kids attempted to perform "The Twelve Days of Christmas"--see it here!

The Song Birds presented "The Nativity Story" on December 8th, retelling in scripture and song the birth of Jesus. They performed to the max and delighted the audience of family and friends. Well done, Song Birds! If you missed the show, you can view it here.

Our annual Trunk of Treats for Halloween was a fun event for adults as well as the children. See lots more photos here.
